Do you want to lead and develop social services in a time of change? KSON is looking for an engaged Deputy Head of Department for the area of authority under SoL and LSS.
As of February 1, 2026, the department will enter a new phase where we strengthen leadership and expand the department's organization, aiming to create a more sustainable work environment while enhancing support for our residents. We are in an exciting transition where we are developing the working methods of social services to meet future needs and increase accessibility, in line with the new Social Services Act. More information about Healthcare and Care in Norrtälje (KSON) can be found on our website. Link to KSON's website. We are now looking for an engaged Deputy Head of Department, could it be you we are looking for?
Your Responsibilities
The department is one of five departments in the municipal federation's administration. The department for individual support and preventive measures consists of about 85 employees, a head of department, a deputy head of department, and five unit managers. The department is responsible for health-promoting and preventive measures as well as for authority under SoL and LSS, including processing transport services and national transport services, as well as implementing measures in the form of contact persons and support families. Within the department, there are, among others, SoL caseworkers, LSS caseworkers, housing coordinators, contact secretaries, fee caseworkers, family consultants, administrative assistants, and a business controller.
The role of Deputy Head of Department involves leading the operational activities and driving the structural transition based on political goals and priorities. You are responsible for unit managers within SoL, LSS, and support and intervention coordination, and you create equivalent working methods through clear guidance and follow-up. The assignment includes strengthening the work environment and managerial conditions, improving internal coordination, and ensuring quality and legal security. You are a key person in the transition related to the new Social Services Act and lead improvement work that increases coordination, sustainability, and efficiency. With overall responsibility for the operation, you drive development, support managers in personnel and organizational issues, and contribute to a culture characterized by trust, innovation, and collaboration. You report to the head of department and are part of the department's management team.
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced and engaged leader with good administrative and organizational skills, who works in a structured manner and has good knowledge of labor law and employer issues. The role also requires experience in leading through other managers, and it is advantageous if you have experience in leading operational activities in a complex and politically governed organization. It is also beneficial if you are used to working with common working methods, work environment development, sustainable leadership, and systematic follow-up and quality management. Understanding how legal security and quality are ensured even during periods of transition is particularly valuable.
We are looking for a confident leader who is accustomed to and appreciates building and developing relationships both internally in our organization and in our important collaboration forums. To thrive in the role, we believe you are a solution-oriented person who wants to be involved in developing the operation and the team.
You have relevant university or college education or other training combined with experience deemed equivalent. You have a good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Application
The position is full-time and permanent with placement in Norrtälje. Start date and salary according to agreement.
